Janet Sitz is a native of Northern Michigan and a long-time resident of the Upper Peninsula. Her advanced art education includes studies in graphic art, commercial art, drawing, and painting as well as other fine art course work. She began studying porcelain doll making in 1993. What started out as a strong interest has since evolved into a passion. She has found that the making and finishing of a porcelain doll is one of the most demanding art forms, as it involves not only sculpting, but also painting, mold making, costume design and construction as well as a host of other talents.
Her Tiny Treasures Porcelain Doll Studio and Show Room, located in Cedarville Michigan, contains many examples of completed dolls and works in progress. All are one of a kind interpretations of modern reproduction dolls. They are made to exacting standards using high quality components. Even the costumes are designed and handmade of the highest quality materials. These dolls are heirloom quality and are meant to be a fine art collectible. As a visitor to her studio, be prepared to be enthralled by the lifelike dolls!
Studio hours are by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 906-484-3990. You can also contact her by e-mailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
