I am a middle school teacher by day and a camera nut in my after hours. It only took 40 years for me to figure out that I could make a business out of one of my passions: photography. Better late than never, I suppose. Photography has been in my blood since birth and I have turned into my mother, capturing all of the special moments in our family with a camera at my side wherever I go. My artistic side, however, is what drove me to begin Muddy Waters Photography.
Muddy is my (family's) dog. He's a Chocolate Lab, and part of the inspiration behind my business name. The other part comes from my need, my desire, my infatuation with being around water. Since birth, my summers have been spent in the Les Cheneaux Islands. I do not have a desire to travel to far away and exotic places when I have this beautiful corner of the world to spend my time. Most of my photos have been taken in the Islands, and those photos are the focus of my talents. I don't currently shoot weddings or engagements but am opening up my schedule to family portraits, senior portraits, pet portraits, and school sports teams.
In the years to come, I hope you enjoy all that my lens has to offer. My photography is featured on the lescheneaux.org website and was featured in the St. Ignace News in an August 2015 story about our Fleet 31 Ensigns. One of my passions to photograph is all of the Ensign races in the Islands.
