Watercolor [email protected] www.katieeberts.com How did you become an artist? (Briefly describe your journey): I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. When I was little I used to draw Minnie Mouse over and over again. I went to art school at University of Michigan, discovered my love for watercolor, and have been working as a freelance illustrator/artist ever since. Why did you choose the Les Cheneaux Area as a place to reside and make your art? My family lives here, and I enjoy being part of a small community. The Les Cheneaux Islands are beautiful year round, and I love the changing of seasons. There is so much to do! From boating and barbecues in the summer, hikes in the fall, snowshoeing and skiing in the winter, and then watching spring creep in s-l-o-w-l-y….this place to me is truly magical in many ways. What inspires you? Dreams, flowers, animals, stories, and magic. Describe your art in one sentence: Whimsical and fresh, with a playful and humorous style that seems to dance to its own secret song. When you are not making art what are you most likely doing? Exercising, cooking, playing or listening to music, gardening, riding my bike, teasing my fiancé, and knitting. What is your favorite sandwich? My dad makes the best Turkey Ruebens in the universe, hands down. |
